Phillip Toledano (American, b 1968) "America the Gift Shop" from an installation project reflecting the artist's sociopolitical views, items include a cookie jar after a photo of Abu Graib detainees being abused; bobblehead after a photo of a detainee being abused; baby mobile with helicopters and men with guns; and (2) Guantanamo themes T-shirts, very good condition. Statement from the artist concerning America the Gift Shop series: "If American foreign policy had a gift shop, what would it sell? America the Gift Shop is an installation project that reflects the foreign policy of the Bush/Cheyney years through the fun-house mirror of American commerce."
