Bunch Auctions is asking all clients to utilize remote bidding options for the June 23rd Historical Documents, Artifacts, Books & Ephemera Auction. Bidding is available by absentee, by phone, or online with BunchLive, Live Auctioneers, Invaluable, and AuctionZip. While the live sale will continue as planned, out of an abundance of caution for our clients, we will not be hosting in-person bidding in our Chadds Ford salesroom.

Preview Policy: PREVIEWS NOW AVAILABLE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

As Delaware County, PA has entered the "yellow phase" of the re-opening process, we are now able to offer in person previews "by appointment only" for our upcoming catalog sales on June 23rd and 30th. We still must adhere to the rules and restrictions set by the Commonwealth of PA. Clients will be able to preview in person subject to the following procedures and rules:

Clients will not be able to walk the sale room, we will assign one of our staff to bring the items to you.

Clients will be able to make appointment beginning Wednesday, June 17. To schedule an appointment please go to: https://BunchAppointments.as.me/ Appointments will be in 30 minute intervals.

YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WALK THE ENTIRE SALE, PLEASE SEND US A LIST OF LOT NUMBERS OF THE ITEMS YOU WISH TO SEE AND WE WILL BRING THEM TO AN INSPECTION TABLE.

To schedule your appointment the following information is required. Name, Phone, Email and most importantly a list of lot numbers. This system will send you an email confirmation and a 24 hour reminder notice. You can also cancel or reschedule your appointment 12 hours in advance, if necessary.

Once you arrive please come to the front office. You will need to review and sign a wellness affidavit and allow a contactless temperature reading. Everyone will be required to wear masks and gloves. We will provide them if you do not have them. Alcohol wipes and hand sanitizer will be available.

Please practice patience and understanding as we all work together to ensure everyone is safe. We look forward to resuming our sale schedules and former procedures as soon as possible, but in the meantime we must ask you to adhere to these rules.


Bunch Auctions is excited to bring to the Americana market a treasure trove of historical documents, artifacts, books, and ephemera from the family of Francis Hopkinson, Signer of the Declaration of Independence. (From Wikipedia) "Francis Hopkinson, 1737-1791 was an author and composer. He designed Continental paper money, the first United States coin, and early versions of the American flag. He was also one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence in July 1776, as a delegate from New Jersey. He served in various roles in the early United States government including as a member of the Second Continental Congress and as a member of the Navy Board. He later became the first federal judge of the Eastern District Court of Pennsylvania on September 30, 1789."

Documents: include 14 Signed Documents by Francis Hopkinson including a Revolutionary War Loan dated 1781 related to the Underground Railroad, Joseph Hopkinson documents, papers, and a manuscript, manuscript letter compilations from John Pennington Hopkinson, Joseph Hopkinson, Edward Coale Hopkinson, John Jay signed appointment, Benjamin Rush signed U of P Diploma, ALs from Edward Burd, Henry Dearborn, Thomas Tudor Tucker, William Moultrie, James Barron, Alexander Von Humboldt, Robert J Walker, and many other documents signed by noted persons pertaining to the business of government and the business of business through the 19th and early 20th centuries.
